We wanted one place where cat, dog, and bird owners could find clear, practical, no-nonsense guidance — the kind you'd get from a friend who's been through it, not a content farm.

Who's behind PawsomeFlock
Hi, I'm Derrick Radley, the person writing and editing the guides on PawsomeFlock. My interest in pet care started with a rescue cat named Milo, who came into my life as a nervous, underweight stray and quickly taught me that good pet parenting is about much more than buying the right food or choosing the right toy. It is about paying attention, learning your pet's habits, and being willing to change when something isn't working.
Over the years, dogs and birds became part of my everyday life too. I've made plenty of beginner mistakes along the way — from overcomplicating feeding routines to buying products that looked great online but were completely impractical at home. Those experiences are a big reason I started PawsomeFlock. I wanted to document the useful lessons, the mistakes, and the simple solutions I wish someone had explained to me when I was starting out.
Today, I focus on turning pet-care questions into practical, easy-to-follow guides. I spend time checking reliable sources, comparing advice, and looking at the everyday details that can make a real difference to a cat, dog, or bird and the person caring for them. I'm still learning too, and I'm comfortable saying when something is outside my experience or belongs in the hands of a qualified veterinary professional.
